Social Media Specialist

Voto Latino is looking for a Social Media Specialist to join the team. This role will work closely with the Digital team in the Washington, DC office. We are looking for a driven Social Media Specialist, who will take a leading role with the creation, editing and posting of content to support Voto Latino strategies as well as take part in social media engagement.

  • Proven working experience in social media or related field
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text) and communication skills
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
  • Experience maintaining and managing organizational social networking accounts (Facebook,
  • Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Google +, etc.)
  • Positive attitude, detail oriented with good multitasking and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, fast and independent learner
  • Ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
  • Experience in growing audience/boosting audience engagement
  • Understanding of measurement tools such as simply measured
  • Minimum 1-3 years of online communications experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
  • Build and execute social media strategy through research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Create, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images or video) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Manage community engagement on social media platforms in a timely manner
  • Support the development of creative concepts and executions
  • Development and implement social media plans for specific campaigns
  • Use analytics tools and interpret data to create meaningful insights to continually improve strategy and creative
  • Identify key online influencers as it relates to specific projects and work with relevant influencers for potential partnerships
  • Assist with paid media advertising on social channels

  • Collaborate with other departments to manage reputation, identify potential partnerships/key players and coordinate actions

Compensation is commensurate with candidate’s relevant experience.
