I VL because it keeps me creative & inspired, connected & useful. It humbles me & is a source of pride all at once. I'm addicted. I could never not VL!

News: NY Times, CNN, BBC, International Herald Tribune, but mostly random topical searches through Google. I like to see what comes up when I type in stuff like " Why does voting matter"...when you read blogs from soldiers just before they've been killed in Iraq encouraging us to vote it intensifies my commitment to getting all of our voices heard.

My Grandfather is from Matanzas Cuba.

Ipod: Betty Davis, Caetano Veloso, Joe Cuba, Little Dragon, Afronaught, Broki & Lisa M., el perro del mar, Fela Kuti, Joni Mitchell, Polo Montanez...etc! I love music. Music has saved my life.

Favorite food: Mommy's Lasagna & Grandma Mima's Pernil & Arroz con gandules. There's also pizza & bagels of course...I am a New Yorker! :)
