Voto Latino Applauds PG&E and Energy Companies Restoring Electric Services to Puerto Rico
Washington, D.C. – Pacific Gas and Electric Company announced it deployed a team of 11 PG&E emergency-management experts and field personnel to Puerto Rico as part of a large group of mainland energy companies that will assist with mutual-aid efforts to repair infrastructure destroyed by Hurricane Maria and restore electric service to island residents.
It will be a 30-day deployment. In all, seven Incident Management Teams from mainland energy companies will be in place.
In response, Maria Teresa Kumar, Voto Latino President and CEO, issued the following statement:
“PG&E is a long time supporter of the Latino community. Their deployment to Puerto Rico demonstrates their compassion and generosity to help the island rebuild. We applaud PG&E for its dedication to provide aid during this desperate time and thank all the individuals who will spend this holiday season giving hope to the millions of families still facing hardships in the aftermath of Maria.”
