Voto Latino Ramps Up Local Strategy Through Newly Hired National Field Director
WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 6, 2017 – Voto Latino, the leading civic media organization empowering American Latino millennials, released a statement on Natalie Montelongo, former Political Director for Hillary for Colorado, joining the organization as National Field Director. In 2016, Montelongo organized Latinos in Colorado and helped increase civic participation in Latino communities.
“We are thrilled to have Natalie join our team. Our digital-first strategy has been the core of work to mobilize Latino voters, but looking toward 2018 and 2020, Voto Latino recognizes the importance of building up our field presence. Natalie brings excellent experience in engaging Latinos and she will develop and implement our national field plan that builds awareness and engagement,” said President and CEO Maria Teresa Kumar.
“I’m excited to join Voto Latino. I can’t wait to leverage my learnings from the field to run a fully integrated civic engagement program because I believe in the power of the Latino community to organize and make change for themselves. We need it now more than ever.” said Montelongo.
