Are you a creative self-starter who wants to contribute to a great organization? Voto Latino (VL) is seeking a part-time intern able to work up to 30 hours/week to support the Digital Department in helping us better use digital media to advance our mission of engaging, educating, and empowering Latinos to be agents of change in our democracy. Candidates should be creative, detail oriented, and enjoy working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. The Digital Communications Intern will report to the Associate Digital Director.

Part-time Internship, Fall/Winter 2019

Voto Latino offers all interns college credit and a stipend. The Digital Communications Intern will experience how to create and executive digital marketing strategies including social media, email, and SMS for a non-profit organization.

  • Assist in developing content for email, social media, blog posts, and SMS campaigns
  • Research and assist in drafting talking points on VL’s issues
  • Organize photos, videos, and documents to make them more widely available for digital use
  • Participate in strategic brainstorming sessions with the digital team
  • Monitor current events and identify those that we share over digital
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Be enrolled in 4-year degree program
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong, demonstrated written and verbal skills
  • Experience meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment
  • Be a strong self-starter
  • Interest in learning about digital marketing strategies including social media, email, and SMS
  • Familiar with and ability to leverage multiple digital channels (social media platforms, email marketing, SMS)
  • Passion for the digital space and a deep understanding of digital and political work
  • Demonstrated commitment to and awareness of Latino civil rights and/or issues of social justice
