Associate Social Media Producer

Summary:
Are you passionate about the intersection of Latinidad, social justice, and youth culture? Are you quick on your feet and can come up with witty tweets, IG posts, and TikToks in a timely manner? If so, we’re interested in you for the role of social media producer, where you focus on the day to day posting across Voto Latino’s social media channels. The Associate Social Media Producer will report directly to the Director of Social Media.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be able to create daily written and visual content for VL’s social media channels
- Have a strong sense of social media trends (FB, Twitter, IG, and TikTok)
- Be able to create tweets, IG posts, and TikToks on the fly
- Break down trending news stories and political issues for explainers (for Reels/TikToks, IG carousels, and tweet threads)
- Must create content on the fly for special events (live tweeting/event coverage)
- Travel as needed, typically once per quarter or more.
- Be willing to learn
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience producing social media content
- SOME Adobe Photoshop and Premiere experience. Illustrator and After Effects preferred, but not required
- Have basic iPhone camera shooting and editing skills. Be comfortable on-camera
- Excellent research and fact checking skills
- Must show previous social media experience (TikToks, IG posts, self-made memes and content are all welcomed)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Have a strong familiarity with Latino culture/issues
- Have familiarity with politics and social justice
Salary & Benefits
Salary range is $50,000-$60,000 annually, commensurate on experience. Voto Latino alo offers competitive benefits, including health insurance, and paid time off.
