ABOUT

ABOUT

Voto Latino’s #SomosMas campaign aims to encourage Latinos across the country to fill out the U.S. Census in 2020.

The U.S. Census is pivotal in determining public resources and political representation for the next 10 years. The census count helps direct the distribution of $600 billion in federal funds for education, health programs, highways, housing, law enforcement, and more. It also determines how the 435 members of the House of Representatives are allocated to each state, and often the drawing of local and state government districts too.

If our communities are undercounted, they will be deprived of critical resources and political power for the next decade. To make sure that doesn’t happen, Voto Latino has partnered with 24 organizations across the country to raise awareness and create a united front in getting out the census.
