In 2016, we launched Voto Latino chapters to expand the work of VL by growing our on-the-ground presence. In 2019, we piloted new programming to focus on deep relationship building in order to support chapters and create a sustainable and empowered base. VL Chapters consist of active members and has its own governing body. This model equips leaders with the proper tools and skills to be advocates in their communities and ensure their voices play a role in the political process to initiate significant change. They have done so by participating in town halls, hosting voter registration drives, convening mission-driven roundtables and trainings, and leading local events.
