When They Go Low, We Go Local is harnessing the momentum following the 2016 presidential election campaign to empower our communities to enact change. We recognize that civic engagement never stops. We’re growing our campus and city chapters, hosting VL Power Summit leadership conferences to train local organizers, registering voters at concerts and cultural events, and building from the ground up. Let’s focus our energy on strengthening our democracy and building a country that reflects all of our values.

But why Go Local?

Only 1 in 5 eligible voters cast ballots in mayoral elections where constituents have the most to gain—and the most to lose. That’s why we’re going local in 2017. We need continued civic engagement in municipal and local elections in order to build for the 2018 midterm elections and beyond.
