Juan Carlos Perez serves at the Latinx Engagement Director at Pete for America. As a first generation, Mexican-American, Juan Carlos understands first hand the challenges the Latinx community confronts and strives to advocate for improved policy regulations for the community. Most recently, Juan Carlos served as the Director of Advocacy and Membership for GreenLatinos, a non-profit organization committed to addressing environmental and conservation issues that significantly impact the health and welfare of the Latinx community. Prior to GreenLatinos, Juan Carlos served as the Policy and Legislation Manager with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) – the nations largest and oldest Hispanic civil rights organization. In addition, Juan Carlos previously served as the Professional Programs Specialist with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, managing the Public Policy Fellowship program, with the goal of diversifying congressional staffers on Capitol Hill. Juan Carlos grew up in Chicago, IL and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago.
