The Dreams That Made Us
Honoring the Sacrifices and Stories That Built Our Future
This Immigrant Heritage Month, Voto Latino invites you to be part of The Dreams That Made Us—a national digital campaign celebrating the resilience, courage, and dreams of our immigrant ancestors.
Much like the monarch butterfly—whose epic, multi-generational migration depends on each generation carrying the journey forward—our families have crossed borders, endured hardships, and passed down dreams that now shape who we are. Their sacrifices were not just for survival—but for the future. For us.
Through short, powerful videos, we’re uplifting the voices of those whose lives have been shaped by the dreams and strength of their immigrant families.
Share Your Family’s Story
Join the movement by recording your own short video (60–90 seconds) and answering these 3 questions:
-
“My grandparents/parents/family members came from…”
-
“They sacrificed so I could…”
-
“Now I’m the first in my family to…”
Upload your video and tag us @VotoLatino on Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Substack or Linkedin — or email it to us directly at [email protected].
We’ll be spotlighting select videos throughout the month across our social channels!

Now, it’s your turn.
Our Roots Are the Reason We Rise
Just as the monarch butterfly depends on the strength and endurance of each generation to complete its journey, we too carry forward the dreams and determination of those who came before us.
This month, we honor their legacy.
We tell their stories.
We fly because they did.
