Voto Latino and National Coalition Lead Day of Action to Demand Impeachment of Secretary Noem

Washington, D.C. — Today, a broad coalition of organizations, including People Power United, Latino Victory Project, Civic Empowerment Coalition, Voters of Tomorrow, Students Engaged in Advancing Texas, New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice, The Pinta Pride Project, Stop AAPI Hate, Services, Immigrant Rights, and Education Network (SIREN), Human Rights First and Voto Latino, is holding a national Impeach Noem Day of Action

The Impeach Noem Day of Action is part of a broader effort to hold Secretary Noem accountable for her role in overseeing a dangerous escalation of force and abuse of power being carried out by the Department of Homeland Security. Our coalition is mobilizing communities nationwide to flood the Congress’ phone lines and demand Secretary Noem’s impeachment.

Leaders from our coalition partners issued the following statements:

Voto Latino:

“Since taking the helm of the Department of Homeland Security, Secretary Kristi Noem’s tenure has been defined by tactics rooted in fear, impunity, and a dangerous abuse of power—emboldening federal immigration agents to operate without restraint. Across the country, families are being forced into the shadows as their communities become ground zero for political theater that has real and devastating consequences. What we are witnessing goes far beyond immigration policy; it is a full-blown civil rights crisis. Children have been wrongfully detained, families torn apart, lives lost, and DHS continues to act with unchecked force—creating a dark and dangerous moment for our nation that impacts everyone, regardless of immigration status.

The American people have made one thing clear: this is not what they voted for, and they are overwhelmingly in favor of Kristi Noem being removed from office. Families are hurting, communities are living in fear, and accountability has been absent for far too long. That is why today we are urging people across the country to exercise their right to call their members of Congress and demand the impeachment of Secretary Noem. Voto Latino is proud to stand with our coalition partners in calling for justice, accountability, and the restoration of the rule of law.”

Katharine Pichardo, President & CEO of Latino Victory Project:

“Under Secretary Noem, DHS and ICE have become a rogue agency with complete disregard for our constitution or the rule of law. They are instilling fear and chaos in American cities and they’re forcing entire communities to live in fear—families are being separated, children are being held in detention camps in deplorable conditions, and many of our neighbors are afraid to even go outside. It’s a direct threat to our republic and furthermore a clear and present danger to safety in our communities. Under Secretary Noem, ICE’s so-called immigration enforcement operations are endangering families, decimating local economies, violating civil rights, killing innocent Americans, eroding our American values. Latino Victory joins coalition partners demanding Secretary Noem’s impeachment. The American people deserve unequivocal assurance that our government leaders still respect the U.S. Constitution and that they understand that no one is above the law – Noem is unfit and for that, she should be fired.”

Santiago Mayer, Executive Director of Voters of Tomorrow:

“Kristi Noem sees immigrants like me as subhuman. The chaos at DHS is a testament to Noem’s failed leadership and the hate in her heart. She’s given the orders that have forced children to live in fear, torn apart families, and traumatized communities. She has blood on her hands, and our generation won’t let her get away with it. Young Americans are demanding justice: for our loved ones, our neighbors, and our classmates. We must put an immediate stop to DHS’s cruelty, and that starts with impeaching Kristi Noem.”

Mariam Arif, Director of Communications and Development, Services, Immigrant Rights and Education Network (SIREN):

“Accountability is not optional, especially when community trust and safety are at stake. This call to impeach Kristi Noem sends a clear message that misconduct cannot be ignored and that our institutions must work for the people, not against them.”

Ayaan Moledina, Federal Policy Director for Students Engaged in Advancing Texas (SEAT):

“Secretary Noem and President Trump are refusing to protect students in schools from ICE and are infringing on students’ civil rights and rights to free expression. The Secretary is complicit in the atrocities that are being committed against young people across the country and she must immediately be impeached and removed from office. She is unaware that legal residents, including U.S. citizens, are being caught in the crosshairs and doesn’t even know about the inhumane tactics that her agency is using against children, keeping them in cages, refusing them access to healthcare, and depriving them of food. ICE is kidnapping children from right outside of schools, sometimes from directly inside and Kristi Noem doesn’t even flinch. As a high school student and the son of immigrants, I am deeply offended and outraged by Noem’s disregard for the law and morality. She must be fired.”
