Voto Latino Appoints Beatriz Lopez as Executive Director
Washington, D.C. — Voto Latino, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to informing, engaging, and registering Latino voters, today announced the appointment of Beatriz Lopez as its new Executive Director. A nationally respected strategist with more than two decades of experience in civic engagement, advocacy, and communications, Lopez will help lead the organization’s efforts to expand Latino political power ahead of the upcoming midterm elections and in the years ahead.
“As we look ahead to the next chapter of Voto Latino’s work, Beatriz brings the vision, strategic depth, and fierce commitment needed to meet this moment head-on,” said María Teresa Kumar, President and Co-Founder of Voto Latino. “Latino communities are navigating an economic crisis and an all-out assault on immigrant families — and Beatriz knows how to turn that pain into power. Her leadership will ensure our communities don’t just survive this moment, but shape what comes next.”
Lopez is a nationally respected strategist with more than two decades of experience leading advocacy and civic engagement initiatives. She most recently served as founding Managing Director and Co-Executive Director of the Immigration Hub, where she helped build the organization into a leading national voice on immigration policy. She is also the founder of Democracy Power Project, a national initiative at the intersection of democracy and immigration that mobilizes movements, equips leaders, and drives breakthrough narratives to advance a bold vision for working families.
“I am honored to join Voto Latino at one of the most pivotal moments in our community’s history,” said Beatriz Lopez, Executive Director of Voto Latino. “Latino families are being crushed by the rising cost of living while simultaneously being targeted by reckless anti-immigrant policies. That’s not a crisis — that’s a call to action. Latinos are the fastest-growing voting bloc, and Voto Latino exists to make sure our power matches our numbers. I’m ready to build on this organization’s extraordinary legacy and expand its influence so that the policies shaping tomorrow are written with — and for — the most dynamic, most consequential generation in America’s future.”
