Voto Latino Comments on Another Donald Trump Indictment

In response to the latest criminal indictment of twice-impeached former President Donald Trump, Voto Latino Founding President and CEO María Teresa Kumar released the following statement:

“The law continues to catch up to the former President, and this latest indictment, including four criminal charges and six unnamed co-conspirators, addresses the shameful January 6th insurrection that attempted to nullify the democratically cast votes and overturn the will of the American people, thus attempting to spiral our democracy toward authoritarianism.

“Despite this not being the first – nor likely the last – indictment against the twice-impeached former president, he’s still the presumptive Republican nominee for president, representing a very real threat to our democracy. Voto Latino will continue with steadfast conviction to inform and fight for our democracy each and every day.”
