Voto Latino Comments on Donald Trump’s Indictment in Georgia

In response to the latest criminal indictment of twice-impeached former President Donald Trump, Voto Latino Founding President and CEO María Teresa Kumar released the following statement:

“As this latest indictment shows, Trump 2020 was more than a presidential campaign — it was a criminal enterprise. The latest indictment of the disgraced former president and 18 co-conspirators is a step toward accountability for their unconscionable attempts to subvert our democracy and oppress the will of the voters.

“The charges out of Georgia hold Trump accountable for many of his shameful attempts to subvert our democracy and bend our nation to his will — from efforts to intimidate elected officials to pushing slates of false electors. Voto Latino is committed to transparency and accountability that supports a more inclusive and representative democracy.”
