Voto Latino Comments on President Biden Expanding Obamacare to DACA Recipients

Earlier today, President Joe Biden announced that his administration is expanding access to Affordable Care Act coverage and subsidies to those in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. In response to that news, Voto Latino Founding President and CEO María Teresa Kumar released the following statement:

“Earlier this week, I joined four other Latino leaders for a meeting with President Biden to discuss how his administration could deliver on its promises to our communities. Today, the president took an important step in demonstrating his commitment to improving the lives of Dreamers – not to mention their loved ones.

“President Biden is working to ensure that Latino families can thrive under his presidency. Meanwhile, former President Trump is planning to build detention camps, deploy the military, and terrorize Latino communities throughout the country. The choice is a stark one this election, and Voto Latino is working to ensure that voters in key battleground states understand exactly what is at stake.”
