Voto Latino Mourns the Loss of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner

Washington, D.C. — Voto Latino is deeply saddened by the tragic deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, and honors their enduring legacy of advocacy, and unwavering belief in a more just and inclusive America.

Voto Latino issued the following statement:

“Rob Reiner believed that our democracy is strongest when everyone is seen and heard. Rob embodied those values by standing as a committed partner to Voto Latino—standing with us at critical moments. In 2018, Rob stood in solidarity with us in condemning the first Trump administration’s family separation policy in Tornillo, Texas. His activism brought attention to a matter deeply affecting our community; however, his allyship did not end there.

Rob used his platform to advance causes rooted in dignity and justice, from advocating for healthy children to helping make marriage equality a reality through his leadership on Proposition 8. He understood the power of narrative and used his voice to expand freedom and belonging.

At a moment when values-driven allyship matters more than ever, his leadership set an enduring example. Michele Singer Reiner shared that same spirit of compassion and commitment, and together their legacy will continue to inspire our work. Voto Latino extends its deepest condolences to their loved ones.”
