Voto Latino Responds to Supreme Court Rejecting Independent State Legislature Theory

In response to the Supreme Court’s ruling in Moore v. Harper, Voto Latino Founding President and CEO María Teresa Kumar released the following statement:

“The Supreme Court rightfully rejected the debunked ‘Independent State Legislature Theory’ in totality. Checks and balances are essential for our government to operate effectively and responsibly. State courts are vital to providing accountability and transparency as we continue to see a rise in election denialism. We will continue to reject ideologies that seek to limit our voices and threaten the freedom of each of us to participate in free and fair elections across the nation.”
