Voto Latino Responds to Supreme Court Ruling on Mifepristone Case
In response to the Supreme Court’s decision to grant a stay allowing mifepristone’s availability to remain unchanged while the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals hears a case challenging the FDA’s approval, Voto Latino issued the following statement:
“This ruling means that patients will continue to have access to safe, necessary medication–and it shows just how extreme Trump Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk’s decision truly is. This Supreme Court hasn’t been shy about pushing its far-right agenda, yet even this body understands the profound impact of Kacsmaryk’s reckless, irresponsible ruling.
“But we still have to remain vigilant. We know that anti-choice judges and politicians are doing everything they can to attack reproductive rights and insert themselves between patients and their doctors. The Latino community is disproportionately affected by these attacks, and we won’t remain silent as extremists continue to use our lives as a political football.
“Latinos overwhelmingly support abortion access, and Voto Latino is committed to ensuring our voices are heard on Election Day when our health and our lives are on the line.”
