Voto Latino Applauds U.S.’s New Central American Policy Review

Washington, DC – Voto Latino today strongly endorsed the Biden Administration’s creation of a new, immediate Central American policy review to address the root causes of migration from that region to the U.S. border.

The review will be led by Vice President Kamala Harris.

“For too long, the U.S. has treated Latin America as a consequence-free afterthought,” said Voto Latino co-founding president and CEO María Teresa Kumar. “Today’s announcement can be a promising new beginning, where the United States takes a humane, holistic approach that stops treating the symptoms of this crisis and starts going to its root causes.”
