Voto Latino and SEIU Announce Partnership to Register Latino Voters Nationwide

Washington, DC — Today, Voto Latino, the leading civic engagement organization focused on educating and empowering a new generation of Latino voters, is pleased to announce a partnership with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The joint initiative by Voto Latino and SEIU aimed at mobilizing and registering Latino voters across eight key states. SEIU is a prominent labor union representing over 3 million workers in healthcare, public services, and property services sectors.
“Voto Latino is excited to partner with SEIU to engage and empower Latino voters across the United States. Over 36 million Latinos are eligible to vote in November and we are doubling-down on our efforts to inform them about the relevant issues for our community and to register them to vote,” said Voto Latino Co-Founder and President María Teresa Kumar. “This is a historic moment for Latino workers – and this partnership is critical for providing our community with the tools and resources they need to make their powerful voices heard. This underscores the importance of initiatives like the partnership between SEIU and Voto Latino in order to boost Latino political participation.”

But it’s not enough to work hard—we must ensure their voices are heard loud and clear at the ballot box. By teaming up with Voto Latino, we can ensure these workers and their families have the opportunity to vote for leaders who will fight for good jobs, lower prices, and hold greedy corporations accountable,” said SEIU Executive Vice President Rocio Sáenz.
Voto Latino and SEIU will be hosting a Hispanic Heritage Month Event to kick off their partnership on October 5.

Voto Latino y SEIU anuncian gran movilización para registrar a los votantes latinos en estados claves
Washington, DC — Hoy Voto Latino, la organización líder en informar y empoderar a una nueva generación de votantes latinos, se complace en anunciar una alianza con la Unión Internacional de Empleados de Servicio (SEIU). Esta gran asociación pretende movilizar y registrar votantes Latinos en ocho estados que serán clave en las elecciones de noviembre. SEIU es la unión sindical más grande del país y representa a más de 3 millones de trabajadores de los sectores de salud, servicios inmobiliarios y el sector público.
“Voto Latino se complace en asociarse con SEIU para empoderar a los votantes Latinos por todo los Estados Unidos. Más de 36 millones de latinos son elegibles para votar en Noviembre. Y por eso estamos enfocando nuestro esfuerzos para informar a nuestra comunidad sobre los temas más relevantes y cómo registrarse para votar”, dijo la Cofundadora y Presidenta de Voto Latino, María Teresa Kumar. “Este es un momento histórico para todos los trabajadores latinos, y esta alianza es fundamental para brindar a nuestra comunidad las herramientas y los recursos que necesita para hacer que su voz sea más poderosa y sea escuchada. Esto subraya la importancia de iniciativas como esta alianza entre SEIU y Voto Latino para impulsar la participación política latina”.

Voto Latino y SEIU organizarán un evento de lanzamiento por el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, dando inicio a su alianza el día 5 de Octubre.
