Voto Latino Releases New Digital Ad Targeting House Republicans for Failing to Hold DHS Secretary Kristi Noem Accountable for Chaotic Immigration Policy

Washington, D.C. — Today, Voto Latino launched a new political ad calling out vulnerable House Republicans for failing to hold Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem accountable for escalating civil liberties abuses and aggressive immigration enforcement. Under Noem’s leadership, chaos has ensued within the immigration system, forcing communities and law enforcement into roles they never sought. What is unfolding under her direction is not what the American people voted for.

Our latest ad is part of a national digital strategy that highlights the devastating human toll of mass deportations, ICE raids, and unchecked government overreach targeting immigrant families across the country.

“Kristi Noem is weaponizing the Department of Homeland Security to instill fear in immigrant communities across the country. Her policies are cruel, calculated, and blatantly un-American. Under her failed leadership, DHS has become a rogue agency—prioritizing political theater over public safety and routinely violating the rights of immigrants, legal residents, and even U.S. citizens,” said Voto Latino President and Co-Founder María Teresa Kumar. “Her reckless mismanagement endangers our communities and betrays the core values of this nation. Voters wanted a secure border and safe communities, but the Trump Administration’s failed immigration policy is far from that. People are paying attention, whether on social media, in local news, or through firsthand experience, and they are rejecting this approach. It’s time for Congress, especially Republicans who control both chambers, to step up and do their job. This madness is dangerous for our democracy and the future of our country.”

The ad will air in the following congressional district:

  • AZ-01: David Schweikert
  • AZ-02: Elijah Crane
  • AZ-06: Juan Ciscomani
  • CA-22: David Valadao
  • CA-41: Ken Calvert
  • CO-08: Gabe Evans
  • FL-27:  Maria Elvira Salazar
  • NY-17: Michael Lawler
  • PA-07: Ryan Mackenzie
  • PA-08: Robert Bresnahan
  • PA-10: Scott Perry
  • TX-15: Monica De La Cruz
  • VA-02: Jennifer Kiggans

As part of this broader effort, Voto Latino is leading a nationwide coalition of 75 civil society organizations—including interfaith leaders, civil rights advocates, and grassroots organizers—in calling for accountability at the highest levels of government. Together, the coalition has sent a formal letter to Congress urging an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the actions and leadership of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Script for political ad holding Secretary Noem Accountable:

[NARRATOR]: Across the country, from farming towns to big cities… ICE and DHS, under Secretary Kristi Noem, are ripping families apart and creating chaos.. Daytime raids, middle-of-the-night arrests – all while ignoring our civil liberties…..

Mothers taken from doorsteps. Fathers with no criminal records disappeared on their way to work. Children left behind.

Trump and Noem promised to go after criminals. They lied and are now forcing our law enforcement to do something they didn’t sign up for.

This is not what we voted for. .

Trump’s approval ratings are plunging with majorities opposing workplace raids and mass deportations. Poll after poll shows Americans saying: ENOUGH!

Our own Member of Congress? Silent. Turning a blind eye to this mess and refusing to hold Kristi Noem and ICE accountable.

This moment defines us. Will you let our civil liberties erode?  Your neighbors disappear? Or will you fight to protect families’ right to stay together?
